SCPRD to hold championships (Americus Times-Recorder)

This weekend will be a busy one for the Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department (SCPRD). The Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) Basketball district championships started Thursday night, with the 10 and under boys MITE league games that featured Tift County squaring off against Mitchell County and Thomasville YMCA facing Crisp County.

Patricia Louis Ammons, 45, of 848 City Pond Road in Winder, was arrested after she drove to a bar with her boyfriend to pick up her car. Her boyfriend, who had reportedly been drinking for three days straight, fell when he exited the vehicle prompting a call to Barrow County Emergency Services.
